BEJEWELED 3 WINDOWS 10 PATCH PATCH

The steam version however does not work properly at all patch or not The version from origin works perfectly currently without the patch I had the disk version i got from walmart and that one worked perfectly without the patch (Pause a moment.) regardless of that tho dude i can say the steam version is broken I have gotten a number of these games to run in Puppy Linux mode with WINE. Originally posted by Griswald1982:Bejeweled 3 does not require the Steam app to run, unlike others. The problem you are having can be a number of things if you can figure out what it is the game will run fine. all can make two computers that were identical out of their boxes different later on.

Drivers, variations within an Operating System (updates, things like Service Packs, etc.), security software and settings, hardware, etc. Therefore what is it about the Steam version, which does NOT need the Steam app to run (Puppy Linux mode proves it), that does not want to play nice with your computer?Īnd by the way: the number of computers similar to one another is smaller than you might think. The Origin version is probably different in some way as you pointed out. This was a blind spot for me since I never had to deal with it. It does NOT matter if something "worth its salt" has it or not: what matters is does the game play nice with it and at least in some cases the answer seems to be "no." People have solved problems with particular programs by deactivating hyperthreading. So it's hardly barebones, and in any case I tested Bejeweled 3 on more recent library computers with fancier hardware- it works.Īgain, I mention hyperthreading because at GOG and in other places I've noticed that this seems to be a common factor with some games failing to run. It plays "World of Tanks" just fine and that's using public library wifi!. When the Sony is running again I'll try the game on that (earlier hardware and Puppy Linux 5.2.5 Lucid).Īs for hardware: yes the ASUS is a laptop and yes it is from 2012 but it was top of the line back then and even now is VERY powerful, able to match lower-mid gaming rigs in ability.

This is an entirely different Operating System using something to get Windows programs running (Wine Is Not an Emulator). In Puppy Linux mode on the ASUS with WINE Bejeweled 3 runs perfectly well. With WINE it can run 90% of my Windows programs, including games in Puppy Linux mode with WINE.Īll right, I just double checked.

BEJEWELED 3 WINDOWS 10 PATCH WINDOWS 8

In the case of the ASUS it's either Windows 8 or Puppy Linux 6.0.5 Tahrpup. The device then runs in that way, one or the other- not emulation. When you switch them on you are asked which mode you want: Windows or Puppy Linux. I have gotten a number of these "standalone" games to run in Puppy Linux mode with WINE.īoth ASUS and the old Sony (2001) are Dual Operating System devices. Now bejeweled 2 and twist work perfect after applying the patch that was reccomended but BJ3 doesnt on steam but does on originīejeweled 3 does not require the Steam app to run, unlike others. Origin works perfectly for me at the highest settings Something about the bejeweled hardware check is broken on the steam one.

You are running on a bare bones simple igpu so you are not even using the same kernels or drivers i am using to render or simulate things in games (bejeweled doesnt have much to render so it should run on anything) Its the version steam has thats got a problem in it and yes i am not sure what the problem is i do know its a software one not a hardware one I know its not a hyperthreading issue as it works just fine on the origin one with no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well you have not looked in the right areas or at modern motherboards as any desktop motherboard worth its salt will have hyperthreading

My comment about hyperthreading is based on some research and the fact that even the ASUS does not have this feature- that seems to be a common factor. For example, I have both the standalone GOG and Steam versions of "Foxtail," "Chook and Sosik," and "Morphopolis" and they all run just fine. None of them have ever failed to run: the "Bejeweled" games, "Morphopolis," "Lanternium," "Foxtail," "Chook and Sosik Walk the Plank." online-dependent or not, they always run.
